Thanks to healthy growth in the business, we are looking for a General Manager to lead our team!
Main purpose of job:
The General Manager will focus on growing the business with our existing partners (including Lush, V&A, Tate Enterprises and Forest Green Rovers) ensuring that standards are implemented and maintained. Being an advocate for the business and responsible for the P&L by managing staff; establishing and accomplishing business objectives. The General Manager will ensure the smooth running of all the day to day operations in the business.

Main tasks of job:

1) All buildings and assets are kept to a high standard; security in place for building/stock etc; spot checks on high value items; establish and achieve sales targets; control of credit late payers and payments collected on time. Ensure premises open and close on time. Running manufacturing premises and running office operations and finances.

2) Human Resource responsibility: Increases management's effectiveness by recruiting, selecting, orienting, training, coaching, counselling, and disciplining employees; communicating values, strategies, and objectives; assigning accountabilities; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; developing incentives; developing a climate for offering information and opinions; providing educational opportunities.

3) Strategic Planning: Develops strategic plan by studying technological and financial opportunities; presenting assumptions; recommending objectives. Accomplishes subsidiary objectives by establishing plans, budgets, and results measurements; allocating resources; reviewing progress; making mid-course corrections.

4) Builds company image by collaborating with customers, government, community organisations, and employees; enforcing ethical business practices.

5) Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organisation standards.

6) Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed, ready to roll sleeves up and get involved with the day to day projects when required.

7) Oversees maintenance of building internally and externally.

8) Must display excellent customer service and people skills.

9) Ensure all Health & Safety requirements are in place and maintained and all other regulations are met.

10) Ensure cyber security is up to date and sensitive data is protected.

11) Ensure that the values of the business are maintained by all employees.
Our ideal candidate will have the following experience and qualities:
Senior management experience or equivalent - You have been around the block and seen first hand the challenges posed when managing a business and its people.
Have exceptional people skills - You are both positive and assertive and want to create a positive and productive culture based on trust and mutual respect.
Have an understanding of NLP - You know the concept of above and below the line behaviours and you seek to implement these into your life.

Have a good understanding of HR - You know what to look out for and when to nip behaviours in the bud before they get out of hand. You can communicate boundaries effectively and know relevant HR legislation.
Has experience with training and mentoring middle management to enable them to improve their skills and support the structure and culture of the business.
